Description
Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital and largest city, is one of Europe's greenest and most liveable capitals. It is a beautiful and architecturally fascinating city. Its river, the Ljubljanica, is believed to have been first spanned by a bridge during the Roman period.
The city owes its distinctive appearance to architect Jože Plečnik (1872-1957), who designed many of the old city's buildings, river embankments, landscaped tree-lined riverside walks, and several of the city's bridges, including the famous Trnovo Bridge, Cobblers' Bridge and Triple Bridge.
