Ponte Pietra (Stone Bridge) over the Adige river in Verona, Italy. It provided the city (on the right bank) with access to the Roman theatre on the opposite side. The bridge was completed in 100 BC, but had to be reconstructed after retreating German troops destroyed it and Verona's other bridges in WWII. In the distance, the Campanile Duomo di Verona rises above the rooftops.
