Sabal palmetto, also known as cabbage-palm, palmetto, swamp cabbage, and sabal palm is the State tree of Florida. On the savanah/floodplain of Lake Jesup near Sanford, Florida, the Sabal Palmetto is the predominate large species. That is if you don't include the grazing cattle.
