Nyhavn (New Harbour), is a famous 17th-century waterfront harbor lined with colourful houses, many cafes and restaurants. It is one of the most busy places in Copenhagen, with tourists and locals alike – specially when the sun in shining. Built as a gateway from the sea to the old inner city at Kongens Nytorv (King's Square) it was long a haunt for sailors and writers, including Hans Christian Andersen.
