Description

Though the charming town and the impressive Palace are reason enough to visit Linlithgow, but the annual Linlithgow Spectacular Jousting tournament is an event that makes it extra special.

Set on the historic Peel in the shadow of the Linlithgow Palace, the event's carnival-like atmosphere is complete with colorful tents, flags and the jousting field itself. The main event saw a mix of staged hand-to-hand combat, comedy interludes and audience participation. This all surrounds the impressive sight of heavily armored knights galloping at each other on horseback with lances poised, aiming to unseat their opponents.
