Epidendrum conopseum or Green-Fly Orchid is a beautiful native of the southeastern U.S. Highly tolerant of both heat and cold, this clumping species has thin 2"-3" stems topped with glossy leathery purplish dark green 2" leaves, spikes up to 6" produce a dense head of greenish-yellow tinged purple 3/4" blooms, flowers are long lasting and fragrant.
