A cactus sits in the window of inn in Shaxi, China. Shaxi is located half-way between Lijiang and Dali, and is the most intact horse caravan town on the Ancient tea route. The Ancient Tea Horse Road caravan paths that wound through the mountains of Southwest China, were a trade link that tea first spread across China and Asia from its origins in Pu'er county in Yunnan.
