Description
A bed of brightly colored tulips spring forth in Harlow Carr Gardens, one of five public gardens run by the Royal Horticultural Society in Yorkshire, England near the city of Harrogate.
Harlow Carr isn’t the name of a local squire but means “stinking bog” in Old Norse, having been built on the site of a sulphur spring and spa. The spa also had a pleasure garden.
Situated in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, today, the gardens offer a variety of beautiful landscapes, from woodland and wildflower meadows to flowing and tranquil water, as well as a wonderful Kitchen Garden.
