A street in Carcassonne, a medieval French fortress with lovely narrow, cobbled streets and great stone walls. The massive structure has a fairy-tale appearance from a distance, while inside it lends itself to wandering and imagining days of crusades, sieges, and knights. It is France’s second-most visited tourist spot after the Tour Eiffel.
