Description
A little square in Toulouse, France, the name of the square, Place Saintes-Scarbes, has not changed since the Middle Ages. It was known, in the Song of the Albigensian Crusade in the early XII century as the place of the Orme (Elm) des Saintes-Carbes. "Carbes" are sheaves of wheat that were offered as an offering before an oratory dedicated to the Virgin in the center of the square, near an elm tree . From the mid-XVI century, the name simply becomes place of the Holy Carbes.
