North of Orlando and the theme-park corridor and spread across 7,000 acres of pristine central Florida forest and swamp, the Wekiva Springs State Park centers around the headwaters of the Wekiwa River, a beautiful, crystal-clear spring.
One of the many trails in Wekiva Springs State Park that traverse varying plant communities ranging from the signature community at Wekiwa Springs – sandhill - to river swamp, hardwood hammock, mesic flatwoods and others.
