The soaring walls of the nave and the beautiful stained glass windows of the Catedral de Toledo are impressive examples of medieval Gothic architecture, which is why it is considered one of the top 10 cathedrals in Spain. Construction began in 1227 on the site that had been a center of worship since the days of the Visagoths, and later, during the Moorish period, the Grand Mosque was located there.
