Church of San Grata Inter Vites dates back to the 14th Century but was destroyed two hundred years later to make room to the city’s defensive walls. The existing structure was re-erected in the 18th Century. The Church is dedicated to Saint Grata, Bergamo’s co-patron and is called “inter vites” (“among the grapevines”) as the church used to be surrounded by vineyards, which disappeared in the 1700’s.
