Description
The thirteenth-century bell tower, with a square plan and an octagonal spire help make Spoleto's Cathedral visible far and wide. The Duomo di Spoleto or the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta was built in the Romanesque style in the eleventh century on a site where an earlier cathedral stood. During the thirteenth century there were additional modifications with the erection of the facade and bell tower.
