Description
On the site of the Verona’s Roman Forum, the Piazza delle Erbe or Market Square (or the square of herbs) occupies much of what was the Roman Court. Over the centuries, the square has been the center of political and economic life of the city. While many of the structures surrounding the piazza are from the 14th century, the most ancient monument in the square is the Fountain with its statue called “Madonna Verona”. It is a Roman statue, and dates to the IV century.
